Anyone in the area looking for a little fun tonight: Sheri Sable Campbell is running for Alderman in Abita Springs and she's taking part in a forum tonight at 6pm in the Parish Council Chambers on Koop Drive.

We might have a politician at the reunion this year...

It's the same thing as a councilman. Legislative branch of govt in Abita.

We have an Alderman in our ranks! Sheri finished first in the field of 6 (with 5 to be elected).

Congratulations, Sheri!

Abita Springs

Board of Aldermen

The effects of post-Katrina growth on the town were a key issue in this race, where two incumbents and four others vied for five at-large seats on the Board of Aldermen. Incumbents Troy Dugas and Patricia Edmiston and newcomers Sheri Sable Campbell, Greg Lemons and Pat Patterson III were elected Saturday. Mayor Louis Fitzmorris earlier was re-elected without opposition.

4 of 4 precincts | Votes | Pct.

Sheri Sable Campbell | 381 | 20

Greg Lemons | 369 | 19

Troy Dugas | 311 | 16

Pat Patterson III | 308 | 16

Patricia Edmiston | 292 | 15

Daniel Curtis | 241 | 13

This is Kay-Kay / Mike Patterson's little brother. He's about 3 or 4 years younger than us.

Congrats Sheri!

I thought the W.E. "Pat" Patterson, III was Kay Kay's brother, too, but the article I read earlier this week about the candidates said he was in his 40s or 50s. Does anyone know if Kay Kay is around or where she is or is she coming? We were best friends at one time.

Congrats, Sheri! It takes a special person to run for public office and respresent your community. I bet you will do a grand job!

The Pat Patterson in the race is not Kay Kay & Mike's younger brother. He's much older than us, gray-hair, balding. He's been living in St Tammany for about 10 years, Abita for a little over a year.

I went to the candidates forum a couple of weeks ago. Abita's got a good crop of aldermen this time around.

Ah, Pat (Mike and Kimberly's brother) is Patrick Patterson (I think he's the III as well). Last I heard, Kay-Kay was living on Booth Road in Folsom, not too far from my cousins on Willie Road.

Did she graduate with our class? For some reason I thought it was a year later. I see her from time to time in Folsom, but didn't mention anything about the reunion because of that. Please correct me and I will contact her.
Also, if she did graduate with our class, she's not on the missing list, should she be?

Congrats Sheri - Way to go!!! :)

Charlotte - please let KK know about the reunion if you see her again. Yes, she was 86. It would be so good to see her. Is she still married to the guy she was dating in HS? Didn't they marry?

Angie, Kay Kay married Michael Schoen.....I don't remember if they dated in High School or not, but I believe they are now divorced. Haven't seen Kay Kay in years.
